Although the first Pack Activity for the year 2012 was scheduled for Sunday 5th February, the date has been postponed till the 12th of February. This activity involves a visit to the Maritime Museum as well as an exciting treasure hunt around Birgu, giving all cub scouts the chance to re-live an episode of Birgu’s rich history that took place back in WW2. Birgu is one of the oldest localities on the south side of the Grand Harbour, with its origins dating back to before medieval times.

The MRCC is Malta's longest established climbing club, its members being some of the islands' most passionate and committed hard-core climbers. The club regularly organises events and initiatives, and is involved in some of the islands' major climbing projects. This activity will be held at Wied Babu, limits of Zurrieq, which is an ideal place for beginners. |

An overnight for PLs and APLs is being organised between Friday 6th and Saturday 7th January 2012, at the Group’s Headquarters. The primary goal of this overnight is to involve the scouts in the planning and running of upcoming meetings and activities for the Troop section. 2011 was a great year of scouting... but we plan to make 2012 even better!

An interesting project done by one of the scouts, and which was demonstrated to the Troop during a recent meeting. All the patrols then tried their hand at it, putting their artistic skills in practice. Some photos can be found in the photo album. |

Two of the most popular international scouting events organised by the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) are the Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) and Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) activities. This year’s event will take place between the 14th and 16th October. JOTI stations will be set up at our HQ during this weekend, which will enable scouts to make contact with other scouts from all over the world via internet chat, email, webcams, voice chat and also through our website. This activity will also count towards their badge work, and will entitle them to wear the new JOTI/JOTA badge on their uniform, for a period of one year. |

The Stella Maris College Rover Crew shall be spending 10 days in Kandersteg (Switzerland) and Garda (Italy). Whilst in Kandersteg, the Crew will be staying at the Kandersteg International Scout Centre, which is a World Centre of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM). The Centre began in 1923 with Lord Baden-Powell, who, after the first World Scout Jamboree, had a dream about a place where all Scouts from all over the world could meet. During their trip, the Crew will be undertaking a number of high-adventure activities, such as skydiving, rafting, hiking, mountain biking, crevassing, a glacier workshop, geocaching, skiing, sledding, abseiling and aerial runways, to mention some examples. They will also be participating in the international KISC Campfire. The Crew will then be going to Italy to visit Gardaland, the Aquaparadise and the Ferrari Museum in Modena. More information can be found here.
