The Troop finally has 5 new patrol boxes, which will be used for the first time during the upcoming summer camp.  These boxes are fully stocked with most of the equipment needed by the patrol during meetings and activities such as camps.  The cost of the new equipment was covered by money collected by the patrols themselves.

Amongst other things, the boxes include:
  • Tools, such as spades, axes, mallets, knives and flints
  • Emergency equipment, such as a fire blanket and led torch
  • Scoutcraft items, including maps, compasses and lashings
  • Cooking equipment, such as stoves, burners, pots, pans, kitchen utensils and a portable BBQ
  • Various other items such as gas lamps, cleaning supplies, a patrol flag, and some stationary

The boxes themselves consist of three compartments, and have retractable carry handles.  The boxes can be used in various configurations, enabling the box to double up as a small table or even as a larger one accomodating up to six people.
