In association with the Manikata Farmers Cooperative, as part of it's Nature themed month, the Troop Section will be holding an activity this Saturday during which the scouts will follow a heritage trail which will give them a taste of rural life in a place where nature is always at hand.  Along the trail, the scouts will get to visit a small animal farm where they can learn about farm animals, feed chickens, ducks and sheep, and also help with the caring of these animals.  They will also walk through fields and country lanes, where information will be given about what is being cultivated in the fields, about local flora and indigenous trees found along the trail.  The scouts will also visit historical sites which include a World War II beach post and a small Roman tomb.
