Troop Summer Programme

posted 9 Jul 2012, 06:29 by Daniel Cuschieri
Another summer and another packed programme of activities for the SMC Troop!  And we’re off with a bang… Summer Camp 2012 is here!  Contrary to previous years, this year’s camp is being held at Xemxija campsite. However, the Troop programme will still consist of numerous sea activities such as swimming, canoeing, building and racing of sailing boats, snorkelling, wide games and sea-challenges, to mention some examples.  Activities on land are not lacking either, with items such as clay-hill climbing, a cooking competition, a night treasure hunt, water games, a campfire and several wide games also featuring in the programme.  During this camp, scouts will also be spending a night in a bivouac. The Troop will also be working on several badges, including the swimmer, canoeist, entertainer, camper, camp cook, camp warden and photographer badges, as well as a number of instructor badges.

The weeks following the camp promise to be just as exciting!  The Troop will also be having a waterpolo session, go to Comino for a day, take part in various beach sports, have a beach BBQ, play some rugby and go scuba diving!  The PLs and APLs will also be having an overnight in Comino, and the whole Troop will be taking part in the National Scout Camp.
